Do you all think this would be weird to do?

I have been talking to this guy since Good Friday (christian holiday) any way his mothers mom past away on Easter. She was cremated like she wanted, but they are now holding a wake and a funeral for her this weekend. I have never met his mother we have only had two dates, but I was wondering would it be weird to send him and email with a prayer for his mothers mom or just something he could say? Would that be over stepping boundaries you think? were both grown adults if that matters.
