Schizophrenia and iq?
So which is it? Is it low iq that puts you more at risk for schizophrenia or high iq? Before my mother developed schizophrenia at the age of 40 (19 years ago), she had been a pediatrician who graduated second in her medical class. I have a high (but not genius) iq. I am 29. I have learned through my mother's fate, that I should not take on a lot of mental stress in my life, because I am psychologically fragile and can't handle it well, plus I have sz in my family history. Will a low-stress lifestyle help me to avoid sz, or am I going to find myself suddenly schizophrenic in another 11 years, and totally denying it, like my mother did?
