Christians- What are your thoughts on cremation?

My husband and I are both Christians. As we are working on our will, we have been thinking a lot about getting cremated and having our ashes spread together. I like this option because it is more "earth friendly" and not such a financial burden on our loved ones. I believe to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and cremating the body will have no affect on your soul in the afterlife. What do you guys think?
